Online Professional Mediator Training Course Conducted in May
In May 2026, the Parasat Association of Mediators and Lawyers conducted an online “General Mediation Course” designed to prepare professional mediators.

The program aimed to provide participants with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to perform mediation activities on a professional basis in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The training was delivered in an online format and covered 72 academic hours. The curriculum combined theory and practice, with 40% of the course dedicated to lectures and 60% focused on practical exercises, case studies, role-playing activities, and simulated mediation sessions accompanied by individual feedback from trainers.

During the course, participants studied the fundamentals of conflict management, the principles and legal framework of mediation, the role and ethical responsibilities of mediators, negotiation techniques, and modern approaches to dispute resolution. Particular attention was given to the practical application of each stage of the mediation process, from opening a mediation session and identifying parties’ interests to facilitating negotiations and drafting settlement agreements.

Additional modules covered effective communication techniques, questioning skills, working with objections and resistance, practical mediation tools, and the legal aspects of mediation documentation and settlement agreement implementation.
Upon completion of the program, participants underwent a final assessment designed to evaluate both their theoretical knowledge and practical mediation skills. Those who successfully completed the course received certificates confirming their professional mediator training.

Such educational initiatives contribute to the development of the mediation profession in Kazakhstan, enhance the quality of mediator training, and promote the wider use of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.
